RAPID SHUTDOWN SWITCH / FOR SOLAR PV SYSTEM Engraved Label – 4" × 2" White on Red

A 4" × 2" label engraved "RAPID SHUTDOWN SWITCH / FOR SOLAR PV SYSTEM" in white text on a red background. A "RAPID SHUTDOWN SWITCH / FOR SOLAR PV SYSTEM" label marks the switch responders look for first.

For use at the rapid shutdown switch near the service equipment of a building with rooftop solar.

Identifies the switch that quickly de-energizes the conductors of a rooftop solar system, so responders and electricians know which switch to operate.

Where it's used: Usually near the service equipment or another readily reachable spot, outdoors or by the main panel, on buildings with rooftop solar.

• Wording: "RAPID SHUTDOWN SWITCH / FOR SOLAR PV SYSTEM" (2 lines, bold lettering)
• Size: 4" × 2" (102 × 51 mm), the most popular size for equipment, panel and door labels.
• Color: White text on a red background. White on red is the usual pick for stop, fire, emergency and shut-off functions.
• Mounting: Pre-drilled holes in the corners for screws or rivets, for a permanent fix on panels, doors and equipment.
• Material: 1/16" (1.6 mm) two-ply engraving plastic with a matte finish. The wording is engraved through the top color to the contrasting core, so it can't rub off like printed ink.
• Corners: Square-cut corners and clean edges.

Place it on or right beside the switch that does the shutdown, because a label in the wrong spot sends responders to the wrong device. Usually ordered by solar installers and electrical contractors. Also called: PV rapid shutdown label, rapid shutdown switch sign, solar shutdown label.
