Solar PV Labels & Placards

Engraved labels built to last the life of the system. While vinyl labels fade and peel in 5-7 years, our engraved placards survive 25+ years of UV, rain, snow, and temperature extremes.

Why Engraved Labels for Solar?

Solar panels are designed for 25-30 years. Your labels should last just as long.

Vinyl Fails in 5-7 Years

Adhesive labels on south-facing solar equipment face maximum UV exposure. They curl, fade, and fall off — leaving your installation non-compliant with no warning.

Engraved Lasts 25+ Years

The text IS the material. Engraved into UV-stable acrylic or anodized aluminum, it physically cannot fade or peel. Install once, done forever.

Inspector Confidence

Engraved placards look permanent and professional. Inspectors see them and trust the installation. No more failed inspections from peeling stickers.

Every Solar Install Needs These Labels

NEC 690, 705, and 706 require 15-200+ labels per installation. Here's what's required.

RSD

Rapid Shutdown Placard

NEC 690.12(D)

White on red, reflective, 3/8" minimum letters. Required on or within 3 ft of the RSD switch on every building-mounted PV system.

Material Durability Comparison

Material Outdoor Life Failure Mode Verdict
Standard Vinyl 3-5 years UV fading, adhesive failure, curling Not recommended
Premium Vinyl + UV Laminate 7-10 years Eventual UV degradation, adhesive breakdown Short of system life
Engraved Acrylic 10-20 years Minor UV yellowing on cheaper stock Good
Engraved Anodized Aluminum 25+ years Virtually none — sealed under sapphire-hard anodic layer Best for solar
